“It takes a noble person to plant a seed for a tree that will one day provide shade to those whom he may never meet.”  (Author Unknown)

An endowment is a gift that keeps giving year after year in perpetuity.  Quite simply, an endowment is where the principal gift is kept intact while the investment income is available for expenditure on an annual basis.

Your endowment gift can be in support of a program of your choosing.  Ideas include financial aid, technology upgrades, academic support, educational programs, and faculty development.  Many scholarships are set up as endowments as a memorial for a loved one.  We welcome your ideas.

Why make a gift of an endowment?
While there are many reasons to establish an endowment, some common ones are to 1) permanently honor a loved one, 2) appreciation for Catholic education, 3) celebrate personal and professional accomplishments, 4) assist the next generation of Catholic leaders, and 5) leave a permanent legacy.  Most likely, there are tax advantages for you in creating an endowment.  Check with a professional for your specific situation.

At Saginaw Area Catholic Schools, the minimum gift to establish an endowment is $5,000.
